Amarr Roller Replacement: The Littleton Owner’s Guide
Amarr roller replacement in Littleton typically runs $110-$220 installed, and we stock Amarr-compatible rollers on the truck so most jobs close same-day. You’ll usually notice the problem as a grinding, scraping sound when the door moves, or see the door hesitate and jerk as it travels the track. Left alone, a failing roller chews through the track itself, and that’s a much bigger bill.
We’re Servo Garage Doors Littleton, an independent shop, not affiliated with Amarr. We carry replacement rollers sized to Amarr’s residential lines, and we photograph the failed part before quoting anything. That’s Clause 4 of The Haven Standard, and it’s been our rule since day one in 2015.
Which Amarr Models This Applies To
Amarr builds residential doors under several series names: Lincoln, Stratford, Oak Summit, Classica, and the builder-grade Heritage line. The roller size you need depends on the door, not the marketing name. Most Amarr residential doors built in the last 15 years use either a 2-inch or 3-inch nylon roller with a 7/16-inch stem. The larger 3-inch rollers are common on the heavier insulated doors in the Classica and Stratford lines.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha we see constantly in Littleton: Amarr doors with a top strut or heavier insulation almost always came from the factory with 3-inch rollers. When a previous owner or handyman swapped in a 2-inch roller, the door runs loose in the radius of the track and wears the hinge tubes oval. You can check your existing roller right now. If the wheel face reads 2.00″ or 3.00″ in raised lettering on the nylon, that’s your spec.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question for Amarr specifically: Amarr’s factory rollers are solid quality, but aftermarket replacements with sealed bearings and hardened stems often outlast the originals. We stock both. If your door is under Amarr’s warranty and you care about keeping a factory-parts paper trail, we install OEM. If it’s out of warranty, we typically recommend the sealed-bearing aftermarket roller because it’s quieter and survives longer in Colorado’s dry, dusty conditions.
Signs Your Amarr Roller Is Failing

- Grinding or scraping when the door moves. The nylon wheel has worn flat on one side, or the bearing inside the wheel has seized so the wheel skids instead of rolls. This noise gets louder as the flat spot grows.
- The door jerks or shudders mid-travel. A roller with a shot bearing stops spinning for a split second at the same point in the track every cycle. You’ll feel it as a hitch exactly where the track curves.
- Visible play if you wiggle the door by hand. With the door closed, reach down and try to move the bottom panel side to side. More than a quarter inch of movement means the roller stem is worn inside the hinge tube.
- Yellow or white debris in the track. That powder is worn nylon. It means the wheel has been abrading itself down, and it’s already smaller than the groove it rides in.
- The door has come off one side of the track, or sits visibly crooked. This is the end stage of a roller failure, not the beginning. Stop using the door and get it addressed, because a bound roller can pull a cable off the drum and that turns into a spring-under-tension problem.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Littleton, full Amarr roller replacement runs $110-$220 depending on how many rollers the door has and whether we’re swapping just the failed ones or the full set. Most residential sectional doors have 10 to 14 rollers; a few high-lift designs run more. The low end of that range covers replacing individual failed rollers; the high end covers a full set with sealed-bearing upgrades on a larger door.
Here’s how the price breaks down, and we quote it as a flat number before we touch anything, per Clause 1 of The Haven Standard:
- Parts: $4-$9 per roller for quality nylon with sealed bearings; slightly more for the 3-inch Amarr-spec wheels.
- Labor: $70-$140 depending on door size, access, and whether the door is off the track when we arrive.
- What’s included: removal of the old rollers, inspection of the hinges and track for secondary wear, lubrication of the new rollers, and a written photo record of the before and after, delivered to you before the technician leaves the driveway.
Every roller replacement from Servo Garage Doors Littleton carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a roller we installed fails within a year, we replace it and do the work again at our cost. Not a handshake, a written term.
DIY or Call Us?

Roller replacement is one of the safer garage door repairs, with one important exception: never remove the bottom roller brackets or any bracket attached to a cable. The cables carry the tension of the torsion springs, and when a bottom bracket comes loose under load, the spring’s stored energy releases all at once. That’s how fingers get broken and faces get cut. In plain terms: if the roller you’re trying to replace is at the bottom of the door, that’s a job for a technician with the right winding tools and the right respect for the spring.
What you can safely do yourself: open the door halfway, wiggle the panels to find the loose roller, and identify which ones are visibly flat-spotted or grinding. That’s useful information. You can also check your stem size with a caliper if you have one. But the actual swap requires the door in a supported position and the track loosened in the right sequence. If any part of that sentence gave you pause, call us.

FAQs
Amarr’s nylon rollers typically last 7 to 12 years in Littleton’s climate, but Colorado’s dry air and fine dust shorten that if the rollers aren’t lubricated at the hinge pins. Doors facing west into afternoon sun and open to dirt driveways tend to eat rollers faster because the dust works into the bearing. If your home is in the Columbine Valley corridor where we do a lot of older-door work, we routinely see original rollers that are 15 years old and completely flat-spotted. Call (720) 636-7083 for a written quote and a photo record of what we find.
No. A worn nylon wheel or a seized bearing in an Amarr roller is not serviceable; the roller is a sealed unit. Attempting to relubricate the inside of a sealed bearing usually drives grit further in. Replacement is the only fix, and at $4-$9 per roller it’s the least expensive repair on the door. Call (720) 636-7083 and we’ll quote the full job before starting.
Most full-set roller replacements take 45 to 90 minutes on site. If the door is still on its tracks and the hinges are in good shape, it’s toward the short end. If we find secondary damage, like a track that’s been scored by a flat-spotted roller, the visit takes longer and we’ll show you exactly what we found before quoting the additional work.
Yes. We carry 2-inch and 3-inch nylon rollers with sealed bearings, both Amarr OEM and quality aftermarket equivalent, as well as replacement hinge sets, track, and hardware. We also stock parts for LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Genie openers, so if your operator’s force settings were damaged by fighting a bad roller, we can address that in the same visit. Call (720) 636-7083 for a free estimate.
